History

The RDI Network Conference 2017 represents the sixth in a series formerly known as the ACFID University Network Conferences. It is the RDI Network’s flagship biannual event, and is recognised as one of the most anticipated events in the international development sector calendar in Australia.

The Conference is a valuable forum for genuine cross-sectoral learning and collaboration. The RDI Network Conference attracts a broad range of researchers and practitioners around a chosen topical theme and has produced a valuable series of resources published as dedicated volumes of the ANU Development Bulletin.

There have been five past conferences:

2009 – La Trobe University Meeting the Millennium Development Goals: Old Problems, New Challenges
2011 – Deakin University An Australian Approach to Development? People, Practice and Policy
2012 – Australian National University Challenges of Participatory Development in Contemporary Development Practice
2013 – University of Technology Sydney Development Futures: Alternative Pathways to End Poverty
2015 - Monash University, Melbourne Evidence and practice in an age of inequality
